Representative Projects Electromagnetic Induction and Magnetics Detection and mapping subsurface drums During remediation of a Superfund clean-up site in central Kentucky, several 55 gallon drums of hazardous waste were discovered in areas where all drums were thought to have been removed. Pyramid Environmental was asked to design and implement a drum reconnaissance program to delineate the locations of unexcavated drums. A combined electromagnetic induction and full earth magnetic survey was performed in all areas of the site where potential existed for buried drums. Based on the information provided by the survey, the remediation project was able to proceed and avoid potentially hazardous buried drum areas. Location and quantification of buried objects As part of a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment, the location of solid waste management units located on a twenty-four acre site needed to be determined. The client requested that Pyramid Environmental design and implement a cost effective geophysical survey of this area in a short period of time. Using a grid of EM (Electromagnetic Induction) and magnetometry, a geophysical program optimizing cost, coverage and accuracy was performed within the time and money budget. |
